Goodbye P7’s!We had a special pizza party for our group of 6 P7’s who leave us this term. Some of them have been with us since P1 and others have joined us along the way but they have been a delight to work with and we are sad but proud to see them leaving for high school at the end of term. Good luck and thank you to you all. And thank you to the P7 parents who have supported us along the way. Special thanks go to Claire and Emily who have served on the TASC Board of Trustees for many years.
We will miss you all very much!

We are looking forward to a fun Summer of activities, outings and chilling out together. Here’s our programme:

Some thoughts on the new term: 22/23
We are looking forward to a new year of TASC, welcoming new families and new siblings and welcoming back many of our current members.

Groupings
I have had some questions from parents about how we intend to group the children when we are at After School Club following the pandemic when we had to introduce “covid bubbles” in age groups. There is no obligation to group the children post-pandemic but we have found various advantages to continuing to group children in their age groups (P1&2, P3&4. P5-7) – mainly improved safety, security and knowledge of children. So moving forward we will have a hybrid approach:
Outdoors – the children can play freely with any children of any age.
Indoors – we will keep the groupings for registration and snack and some staff will be allocated to each group for observations and a special responsibility to get to know the children in their group. But we will also have “floating” staff allowing us flexibility around play. We will have certain rooms set up for the different age groupings, staffed by “their” key staff but if there are individuals who would prefer a particular activity which is not their age group’s or have particular friends/siblings they would like to be with, we can have a certain amount of flexibility by moving the floating staff to where it’s busiest.

IAs you will be aware, we are very busy with most sessions over-subscribed for next year, and long waiting lists in place. Unfortunately this means that the flexibility we have previously had to add children in for one-offs or make swaps at the last minute will not be possible going forward except in very exceptional circumstances. Please be aware if you give notice and take your child out of a regular session, you will not automatically be able to resume it, but will go to the end of the waiting list.

We are of course glad to be a popular setting but realise that it comes with new challenges!

New families
Those of you who are new to TASC, or even those who have been with us a while may not have seen the space we use for TASC. During the Summer, or once the new term starts, there may be opportunities for a short visit – please contact me directly to arrange a time if you’d like to.
Wishing you all a Fantastic Summer
Finally, the team at TASC wish you a very happy, relaxing and fun-filled Summer, whether you are joining us for Holiday Club or not.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
